FERRIDAY — Ferriday Police are looking for the suspect in a Saturday evening stick-up.
The armed robbery happened at approximately 9:30 p.m. at Taunton’s Ferriday Superette, 801 Louisiana Ave.
At that time, the suspect entered the store dressed in black, wearing a mask and gloves, Ferriday Assistant Chief Johnny Evans said.
The suspect reportedly pulled out a small caliber pistol and demanded money.
“The cash register was already locked, so the three employees ran into a back room,” Evans said.
All that the unidentified suspect — who was described as slim and approximately 6 feet tall — was able to get away with possibly a few rolls of coins and a lady’s purse that was behind the counter, Evans said.
The police will review the store’s video surveillance footage to ascertain more information if possible, Police Chief Kenneth Hedrick said.
