Beads Galore a success, more for sale

Pleasant Acre Day School students and teachers Mary Ann Foggo-Eidt and Judy Grimsley would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who donated and purchased Mardi Gras beads recently.
The Beads Galore Shop at the school had a successful Mardi Gras season thanks to the community’s response to recycling beads. The students sort beads by size and color. They then package them and sell them to Mardi Gras and St. Patrick’s Day revelers and anyone else who wants to purchase beads. Not only is this recycling, but it is a great learning skill for the students.
In the next few weeks, St. Patrick’s Day will welcome the Krewe of Killarney, which has been a supporter of Pleasant Acre Day School for many years.
We invite all who will be participating in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 17 to come by Pleasant Acre Day School and purchase green beads.
Due to the generosity of the Elk’s Club and the Krewe of Killarney, they will have their auction and party Saturday. Green beads will also be available to purchase at that event.
The Mississippi Arts Fair for the Handicapped in June is the highlight of the year for the students of Pleasant Acre. The proceeds from the sale of the beads helps make this possible.
We are now collecting and sorting beads for 2010. Please search your attics and storage rooms for bags and beads and bring them to Pleasant Acre Day School. Once again. the recycling process will begin.
And while you are there, take a look at the Beads Galore Shop. You will be amazed at the amount of time and work the students put into their jobs and the sense of pride that it gives them.
Thanks again for your participation.
