The hoopskirts are out, and Natchez is officially on show for the next month.

Beautiful weather welcomed Spring Pilgrimage Saturday, and reports from homeowners were good. We hope the wonderful weather sticks around and that many more visitors decide to explore all we know our city has to offer.

As many residents prepared for Pilgrimage, others made big news of their own.

Let’s review some of the good headlines of last week.

4 Holy Family Catholic School and the Natchez Children’s Home played host to a group of students from Boston College. The students spent their spring break volunteering with area children. We are always thankful for their work and we hope they enjoyed our town.

4 The Secretary of State’s office has announced plans for this year’s Delta Music Festival in Ferriday. Johnny Rivers will be the hall of fame inductee this year, and a full line of performers will entertain. This annual spring event is a great festival for our area and we are excited as it nears.

4 Students and parents at Ferriday Upper Elementary played and learned together Tuesday night at Family Math and Science Night. The school hosts the event to expose parents to the material students are learning for state tests. All those who participated will reap the rewards of quality time together.

As Pilgrimage continues for weeks to come, we know our city will be busy. And with that busyness will come more great news.
