GLOSTER — Services for Ollie M. “Punkin” Adams, 93, of Crosby, who died Saturday, March 7, 2009, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Sweet Home Baptist Church in Gloster.
Burial will follow at Roxie First Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home in Bude.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Adams was born Dec. 24, 1915, in Franklin County, the daughter of Willie “Culby” Johnson and Estella Carter Dotson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Beulah “Sophia” Shorts, Detta Stamps, Mary Patten and Gladys Green; and six brothers, Hayes, Louis, Bill, Hardy, James and Zack Dotson.
Survivors include a loving and devoted husband, Samuel Adams; four sons, Samuel Lee Smith of Hamner, La., Rickey Reed and wife, Henrietta, and Jimmy Smith and wife, Erma, all of Port Gibson, and McGrew Miller and wife, Carlee, both of Crosby; one daughter, Elaine Rogers of Crosby; one stepdaughter, Murry J. Hall of Roxie; two sisters, Bertha Dotson of Port Gibson and Irene Brown of Vicksburg; one brother, Leadon Dotson of Lorman; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a number of children she raised and helped to raise; two sisters-in-law; one aunt; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
