Blanche Korndorffer Robinson

LUBBOCK, Texas — Services for Blanche Lucille Korndorffer Robinson, 81, of Lubbock, Texas, who died Thursday, March 12, 2009, will be at 10 a.m. on Monday at Christ the King Cathedral, in Lubbock.
Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park, in Lubbok, under the direction of Rix Funeral Directors.
Visitation and rosary will be at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Blanche was born April 1, 1927, in Greenville, the daughter of Helen and Guido Korndorffer.
She graduated as valedictorian of her nursing class at the Hotel Dieu in New Orleans. She was the director of nurses at St. Mary of the Plains in Lubbock for many years, then went to a long career at the VA Clinic in Lubbock, where she received many awards of excellence.
Blanche was a longtime member of Christ the King Catholic Church, as well as an active volunteer at Catholic Family Services.
She was an enthusiastic traveler — always looking forward to the next adventure. Blanche loved the Red Raiders and never missed a football game, unless her adventures were carrying her someone else.
Survivors include one daughter, Rene Martin and husband, Patrick, of Raleigh, N.C.; one son, Charlie and wife, Barbie, of Moscow, Russia and Dallas, Texas; eight grandchildren, Adam, Clay and Eric Martin, and Sage Robinson Shaw and husband, Josh, Ryan, Kellie, Luke and Shannon Robinson.
