FERRIDAY — Services for Jessie “Buster” Taylor, 72, of Portland, Ore., formerly of Vidalia, who died Saturday, March 7, 2009, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Concordia Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Willie Birdon officiating.
Burial will follow at the Vidalia Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Taylor was born Dec. 12, 1936, in Vidalia, the son of Preston and Beatrice Taylor.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Ruby McGraw; and two brothers, James Taylor Sr. and Preston Taylor Jr.
Survivors include one sister, Louise Taylor of Baton Rouge; four brothers, Julius Taylor Sr., and Goldman Blaine and wife, Gloria, all of Vidalia, Edward Blames and wife, Joyce, both of West Covina, Calif., and Bennie Scott Jr. and wife, Burnell, both of Pompano Beach, Fla.; two sisters-in-law, Mercedes Taylor and Maggie Williams, both of Vidalia; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
