MANIFEST, La. — Services for Jerry Kennon, 55, of Harrisonburg, La., who died Friday, March 20, 2009, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Community Pentecostal Church, in Manifest, with Brother Ronnie House and Brother Claude Terral officiating.
Burial will follow at Heard Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Jonesville.
Visitation will be begin at 6 p.m. Saturday at the church.
Mr. Kennon was born April 15, 1953, in Harrisonburg, the son of the Rev. Cleveland Kennon and Kattie Clark Kennon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Lula Parker; and stepmother, Katherine King Kennon.
Survivors include one son, Rhett “Joe” Kennon of Ponchatoula, La.; one daughter, Gail Bass and husband, Weston, both of Winnsboro, La.; three brothers, Nathan Kennon and wife, Cathey, both of Vidalia, the Rev. David Kennon and wife, Gearl, both of DeQuincy, La., and Allen Kennon and wife, Polly, both of Natchez; one brother-in-law, Jerry “Buck” Parker and wife, Bobbie, both of Jonesville; three grandsons, Matthew Benfield Kennon of Ponchatoula, Zackery Jones and Caleb Bass, both of Winnsboro; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Kennon, Michael Kennon, Ricky Kennon, Ron Kennon, Johnny Parker and Ashton Kennon.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joel Kennon and Chuck Fritz.
