Natchez Trace Parkway to host re-enactors

NATCHEZ — Period re-enactors will erect lodges on the grounds of Mount Locust along the Natchez Trace Parkway similar to those used by frontiersmen during the years of 1790-1810.

The lifestyle demonstrations will include cooking, period toys, quilting and tomahawk throwing.

The public is invited to visit the encampment the afternoons of Friday, March 27 and Saturday, March 28.

Mount Locust is located at milepost 15.5 on the Natchez Trace Parkway, about 15 miles north of Natchez.

The program is free to the public.
