NATCHEZ — Services for Bernard “Buddy” Riley, 83, of Vidalia, who died Saturday, March 21, 2009, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Alexandria, La., will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Pilgrim Baptist Church with the Rev. K.E. Stanton officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be at 6 p.m. at Triumph Baptist Church, Concordia Park, in Vidalia.
Mr. Riley was born Aug. 25, 1925, in Woodville, the son of Wesley and Lillian Baker Riley. He was retired from Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company as a tire finisher.
Mr. Riley was a U.S. Army veteran and served during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary B. Riley; one daughter, Dollinda Garrison; and all of his siblings.
Survivors include three sons, Bernard B. Riley Sr., and wife, Nada, William A. “Chubby” Riley and wife, Tracy, all of Natchez, and the Rev. Raymond T. Riley Sr. and wife, Loretta, both of Vidalia; three daughters, Claudia Green of Bronx, N.Y., Carolyn Jones and husband, Rubin, both of Monroe, La., and Sonya Cameron and husband, Isom, both of Dallas; 11 grandchildren, Chiitra L. Jones of Monroe, Letitia M. Riley, LaShea M. Riley, Caissidy T. Riley, Raymond T. “RJ” Riley Jr., all of Vidalia, Trui T. Riley of Natchez, Bernard B. Riley Jr., Cordney M. Riley and Tiffany N. Riley, all of Baton Rouge, Isom D. Cameron V and Ryan Cameron, both of Dallas; six great-grandchildren, Quandarius “Quan” D. Riley, Demarius H. Fleming, Trinity D. Riley and Jarvis R. Whitley Jr., all of Vidalia, Jalen M. Howell of Monroe and Ja’Nayah Richardson of Baton Rouge; a special friend regarded his a daughter, Peggy Brown of Dallas; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
