Former Natchezian is candidate for mayor in Jackson

JACKSON — Brenda Rice Scott, formerly of Natchez, is a candidate for mayor in Jackson. Scott is a graduate of North Natchez High School and recieved her bachelor’s degree in busines adminstration from Alcorn State Univerity in 1976.

Scott is the president of the Mississippi Alliance for State Employees and has been a union organizer for nearly 20 years.

Scott is the mother of three children, Travis, 34, Patrick, 28, and Taaka, 30. Scott is the sister of Charlie Rice who lives in Natchez.
