Piping hot pancakes, anyone?

Published 11:01 pm Tuesday, April 14, 2009

The Natchez Trace Kiwanis Club invites you to our annual pancake breakfast from 7 to 9:30 a.m. on Friday, at Jefferson Street United Methodist Church.

For just $5 per plate, you will receive piping hot pancakes and sausage from some of our very own chefs. Coffee, milk and juice are also included. Dine in and enjoy fellowship and great conversation; or if you are in hurry, we provide carry-out orders.

Delivery service is also available this year with an order of 10 plates at the same location. This event would be a great opportunity to show your appreciation to your employees for their dedication and hard work!

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. The Natchez Trace Kiwanis Club’s current project is to provide Automated External Defibrillators — a small, portable device used when someone suffers from sudden cardiac arrest — in each of the area high schools.

We have also placed an AED at the Natchez Senior Citizen Center.

Our organization also promotes and mentors all Natchez Key Clubs, works with the Natchez Children’s Home Services, Pleasant Acre Day School and the Sunshine Shelter.

The Natchez Trace Kiwanis Club also provides scholarships for eligible Key Club seniors and volunteers with the American Red Cross.

Globally, Kiwanis International supports the 9/11 Victims Children’s Fund, provides aid for the victims of tsunamis, hurricanes in the Gulf Coast, a typhoon in the Philippines and earthquakes in El Salvador and Taiwan.

In 1994, Kiwanis successfully launched its first Worldwide Service Project, a $75 million campaign in partnership with UNICEF to eradicate Iodine Deficiency Disorder by the year 2000.

Please come and join us this Friday to enjoy the best $5 pancake breakfast around and help the children of our community at the same time.

If you would like to purchase tickets for our pancake breakfast, please contact Wanda Frye at 601-4331-2861 or René Adams at Natchez Coffee Company at 601-304-1415 or any Kiwanis Club member.

Wanda Frye serves on the Board of the Natchez Trace Kiwanis Club.
