FAYETTE — Services for Clara Bell Tenner, 90, of Natchez, who died Friday, April 10, 2009, at her residence, will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Fayette with the Rev. Darell Norton officiating.
Burial will follow at the Tenner Family Cemetery in Natchez under the direction of Spencer Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 11:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the Kingdom Hall.
Mrs. Tenner was born Jan. 27, 1919, in Jefferson County, the daughter of the William and Elmira Flowers. She married the love of her life, Anderson Tenner Sr., Jan. 23, 1938, and was a very devoted wife of 71 years and a loving mother. She and Mr. Tenner had 10 children. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and caring for the needs of others. Mrs. Tenner dedicated her life to Jehovah in 1964 and was a faithful servant until her death.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Isaac Chambliss; one daughter, Alma Scott; two sons, James Tenner and Anderson Tenner Jr.; and one great-great-grandson, Earl M. Harris.
Survivors include a loving husband, Anderson Tenner Sr.; five daughters, Ruby Whitmore and husband, Timothy, and Dorothy Harris, all of Natchez, Rosie Patterson and husband, Seclester, Bertha Jackson and husband, Herman, and Eva Davis and husband, Loyd, all of Hattiesburg; two sons, Charlie Tenner and Simon Tenner and wife, Sandra, all of California; three sisters-in-law, Ollie Mae Chambliss, Mary Louise Tenner and Izelia Ware; 35 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Justin Brown, Jarrod Jackson, Don Tenner, Grover Tenner, Lamar Felton and Timothy Whitmore.
