Trinity wins district track meet

PORT GIBSON — The Trinity Saints had a great day at the District 3-AA track meet at Chamberlain-Hunt Academy.
Both the boys and girls teams finished first in the meet. The boys won with 84 points while the girls won with 86 points.
In the girls meet, Madeline Cross and Jheri Ogden won the most events for the Lady Saints.
Cross was victorious in the 200-meter and 400-meter dash while Ogden won the 800 meter, 1,600 meter and 3,200-meter runs.
Jheri Ogden, Bethany Ogden, Cross and Caroline Ketchings were also members of the 400-meter relay team that won first place.
Danielle Givens also won first place in the shot put to help the Lady Saints win the meet.
On the boys side, R.J. Fleming was a winner of two events, the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes while Zach Marshall won the shot put and Bryant Pearson won the discus.
Chas Moroney won the 1,600 meter run
