NATCHEZ — Services for Verna Fay Farr, 93, of Natchez, who died Monday, April 20, 2009, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. Zabron A. Davis III officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Mrs. Farr was born Dec. 27, 1915, in Natchez, the daughter of Ernest F. and Aurora Fay Samuel Stattman. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Episcopal Church, the Pilgrimage Garden Club and Friends of Natchez Cemetery. She was employed as a secretary for the Natchez-Adams County School District, then located in the Institute Building on Commerce Street.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert C. Farr Sr.; and one brother, Norman Stattman.
Survivors include one son, Robert C. Farr Jr., of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Norma Larsen of Natchez; three grandchildren, Katherine Kotakadeniya and husband, Indika, of Jacksonville, Fla., Melissa Farr of Houston and Margaret Miller and husband, Brian, of Norfolk, Va.; one great-granddaughter, Margaret Miller.
Pallbearers will be Jack Stephens, Ben Hillyer, Burl Salmon, Andrew Burns, Parnell Burns and Mike Wiley.
