Natchez — Authors Gayden Metcalfe and Charlotte Hays will sign the third book in their “Pastel Trilogy” from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Turning Pages Books & More, located on Franklin Street.

The Delta duo entertains with a third “Southern Ladies Guide” titled “Some Day You’ll Thank Me for This: The Official Southern Ladies Guide to Being the Perfect Mother.” Now mothers the world over can learn how to be the ultimate maternal figure with this loving cheeky, compendium of motherhood, Southern style.

As Metcalfe and Hays reveal, mothers who hail from below the Mason-Dixon Line have their own unique credo to which they adhere at all costs. The way they see it, their most important goals in life are to raise ladies and gentlemen, drill an intimate knowledge of the family tree into their progeny’s heads and make sure they pass on their silver to only the most deserving of their offspring.

“Some Day You’ll Thank Me for This” is as riotous as it is reverential. Anyone who has ever groaned at their mother’s behavior will find something to laugh about in its pages — meaning pretty much everyone.

If you’re a Southern daughter, you’ll recognize your own Mama in every recollection. And if you’re not, you’ll thank your lucky stars. Perhaps best of all, each chapter ends with several authentic and utterly delicious recipes that Southern mothers use to demonstrate their utter command of the domestic arts.

Metcalfe and Hays are the bestselling authors of “Being Dead Is No Excuse: the Official Southern Ladies Guide to Hosting the Perfect Funeral” and “Somebody Is Going to Die If Lilly Beth Doesn’t Catch That Bouquet: The Official Southern Ladies Guide to Hosting the Perfect Wedding.” Metcalfe is a Delta native and now lives in Greenville.

Hays is also a Delta native now living in Washington, D.C.
