GLOSTER — Services for Earl Van “Butch” Jackson, 54, lifelong resident of Crosby, who died Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. today at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Warren Whitaker officiating.
Burial will follow at Union Cemetery near Crosby under the direction of Brown Funeral Home in Gloster.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
Mr. Jackson was born May 4, 1954, in Gloster, the son of Otis Fred Jackson and Annie Fayetta McCurley Jackson. He was a retired chipping saw operator with Georgia Pacific for 17 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two grandchildren; and two brothers.
Survivors include two daughters, Lacy West and husband, Stephen, of Bogue Chitto and April Sullivan of Brookhaven; three grandchildren, Dalton West, Nicholas West and Novalee Sullivan; and four sisters, Virgie LeBlue of Crowley, La., Grace Robertson of Crosby, Fayetta Jones of Cleveland, Tenn., and Julliann Smith of Columbia.
Pallbearers will be Lev Cavin Jr., Britt Cavin, Chris Cavin, Bo Robertson, B.J. Robertson and Homer Nettles.
Honorary pallbearers will be Brad Cavin, Gavin Robertson, Pat Robertson, Patrick Robertson, Jason Robertson, Keith Smith, John Dale LeBlue, Otis Jackson and friends from Paul’s Community Grocery.
