VIDALIA — Singing guests for Saturday’s First Saturday Gospel Music Fest will be Hearts’ Desire from the Laurel area. The mixed quartet will sing many traditional Southern gospel songs as well as some of their own compositions.
Hearts’ Desire has been singing and carrying the word of God since 2005 with members Howard McLaurin, Lynett McLaurin, Roy Boney and Terri Boney. The group sings wherever God opens the door. They support several missionary projects, as well as the Mississippi Gospel Music Association, where Roy serves as president. Terri has been battling a serious illness for the past two years and it has been necessary for the group to add another member Ed Allen to continue the ministry.
This community Southern gospel singing event is on the first Saturday of each month at Cornerstone Church in Vidalia at 6 p.m. There is no admission charge, but a love offering will be received for the singers. Southern gospel music lovers from the Miss-Lou and beyond are invited to enjoy this event. For more information, please call 318-336-4690.
