Remember us, Class of 2009

Miss-Lou mommas, daddies, teachers and principals sent 450 little ducklings into the world this month.
They hugged them, kissed them and dressed them in funny looking hats and long robes before saying goodbye.
But the hats won’t help the ducks swim. It’ll take the brain under the hat to get anything done.
Graduation is always a bittersweet time for our community. We are so proud of the students who made it this far. They have worked hard and earned their latest honor.
But we know some of them are leaving us forever.
We don’t want to let go, but we can’t make them stay.
Congratulations Class of 2009. We do ask one thing of you though.
Think of the Miss-Lou as you are planning your long-term future. Explore employment opportunities here fully. Start your businesses here. Come back home to make a difference.
For you see, graduates, your mommas and daddies, teachers and principals aren’t the only ones who’ve nurtured you, taught you and made you who you are.
This community reared each and every one of you. Paying back the favor isn’t required, but it is appreciated.
Enjoy your adventure into the world. We’ll be cheering you on from here. And we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that you’ll be back one day.
