NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Thieves wielding a forklift managed to steal two unmarked New Orleans police cars from a city repair lot.

Police say thieves jumped a fence either late Thursday or early Friday and broke into a building, snatching keys to the cars. A forklift was then used to knock the fence down and to get the cars out.

One car was a 2002 Ford Crown Victoria; the other, a red Chevrolet Impala. Police say one of the cars had a blue light and siren.
