Children can explore butterflies Saturday

NATCHEZ — On Saturday, students are invited to Historic Jefferson College for the EXPLORE! Butterflies and Moths. Participants will make tissue paper butterflies, learn about the life cycle of these delicate insects, and how color and camouflage help them survive.

Other EXPLORE! classes scheduled for the future include Slime Science on July 18, Rocks and Minerals on Aug. 15 and Ancient Flying Reptiles onSept. 26.

EXPLORE! classes focus on the discovery of history and natural history through hands-on, educational, fun classes. Six to 8-year-olds meet from 10 to 11:30 a.m., and 9- to 12- year olds meet from 2 to 3 p.m. There are a maximum of eight students per class, and pre-registration and payment is required. Each class is $10.
