NATCHEZ — Services for Adam David Nations, 37, of Natchez, who died Monday, June 15, 2009, in Natchez, will be at 1 p.m. today at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. Zabron A. Davis III, the Rev. Rose Kellum and Dr. Douglas Broome officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time today at the church.
A graduate of Natchez High School in 1990, Adam proudly attended the University of Mississippi where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. Adam had a passion for politics and was a devoted member of the Republican Party. During his junior year of college he was awarded the Eisenhower Internship and spent his summer with the Republican National Committee in Washington, D.C.
Adam was known for his magnificent social skills. Throughout his life, Adam never met a stranger and was always interested in what was going on in the world, his country and with those surrounding him. Adam had an amazing sense of humor and a zest for life that allowed him to continuously search for the next adventure.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, George Lawrence Adams of Natchez and Malcolm Nations of Brookhaven; and step-grandfather, John Green of Natchez.
Survivors include his parents, Bill and Katie Watson of Natchez and St. Joseph; his father, David Nations of Natchez; one brother, Adrian Sandel and wife, Lisa, of Natchez; one sister, Kate Nations Seal and husband, Charles, of Baton Rouge; one step-sister, Becky Vizard and husband, Michael, of St. Joseph; seven nieces and nephews, Ashley and Will Sandel of Natchez, Charlie, Matthew and Katie Seal, all of Baton Rouge, and Sarah and Ross Vizard of St. Joseph; grandmothers, Kate Don Green of Natchez and Paulina Nations of Brookhaven; former wife, Ashley Taylor of Oxford; his most loyal and best four-legged friend, Saint; and a large number of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers will be Trabue Bland, John Day, Payton Gore, Christopher Nations, Donn Ellis Nations, Chuck Tucker, Keith Upchurch, Darrell VandeVen and Michael Wilhite and Paul Grace.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Natchez Humane Society Building Fund, P.O. Box 332, Natchez, MS 39121.
