Vidalia — A pre-dawn roundup in Concordia Parish Thursday netted 26 arrests.

The effort, aimed at arresting wanted felons and those with outstanding warrants, was a follow-up to January’s “Operation Wake-Up Call,” which generated 28 arrests.

In a press release sent out Friday, Concordia Parish Sheriff Randy Maxwell thanked several participating law enforcement agencies and the public.

“I cannot stress enough how important it is for the public to let us know what’s going on in their neighborhoods. Communities and individual lives are improved all the way around when we can accomplish something like this,” Maxwell said.

There are still 19 outstanding warrants from Thursday’s sweep.
