FERRIDAY — Services for Jacob Wesley Warden, 88, of Ferriday, who died Saturday, June 20, 2009, in Ferriday will be at 3 p.m. today at Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday, with the Rev. James Gass officiating.

Burial will follow at the New Pine Hill Cemetery in Sicily Island under the direction of Comer Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. today until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Warden was born Sept. 2, 1920, in McHenry, the son of Leon A. and Ruth S. Warden.

Mr. Warden has been a resident of Ferriday for more than 50 years and retired from the oil industry after working as a roughneck and driller. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the U.S. Air Corps.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and four brothers.

Survivors include one brother, Leon Warden of Clayton; and several nieces and nephews.
