NATCHEZ — Services for Ella Jackson Cole, 90, who died Thursday, June 18, 2009, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Cannonsburg with the Rev. Percy Turner officiating.
Burial will follow at the Cole Family Cemetery unde the direction of R.D. Mackel and Sons.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Cole was born Nov. 6, 1918, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Joseph and Lillie Perryman Jackson.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and worked as a homemaker and farmer.
Mr. Cole was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vernon Henry Cole Sr.; two daughters, Hattie G. Edwards and Gertrude Cole; and a sister, Mamie J. Townsend.
Survivors include seven sons, Vernon Cole Sr. and wife, Versa, Joseph Cole Sr. and wife, Ruby, Terry Cole Sr. and wife, Raquel, Biven Cole Sr. and wife, Beatrice, all of Natchez, Edward Cole and wife, Carolyn and Elvis Cole, all of Jackson and Elvert Cole of Hattiesburg; four daughters, Lillie Huff and husband, Samuel, both of Crete, Ill., Rosie Thomas and husband, Leon, both of Natchez, Mamie Rankin and husband, Willie, both of Fayette and Patricia Anderson of Jackson; one aunt, Anna Lee Tenner of Natchez; one sister-in-law, Florence Cole McCoy of Chicago; 39 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; and a number of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
