GLOSTER — Services for George “Eddie” Murray, 85, of Crosby, who died Thursday, June 25, 2009, at his residence, will be at 10 a.m. today at Brown Funeral Home with the Rev. Bernard Waites officiating.
Burial will follow in the Ashley Family Cemetery near Crosby under the direction of Brown Funeral Home.
Mr. Murray was born June 10, 1924, in Wilkinson County, the son of Robert David Murray and Georgie Ashley Murray.
He served four years with the U.S. Army in World War II. He was a member of Perrytown Church of Christ near Crosby.
Mr. Murray was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, John Robert Murray.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Nelma Ashley Murray; two daughters, Eddye Faye Lofton and husband, Paul and Nelwyn Wilkinson and husband, Tony; one son, Robert David “Rob” Murray; three grandsons, Kerry Murray, Trey Perry and Heath Perry; one granddaughter, MacKenzie Wilkinson; two great-grandchildren, Miranda Perry and Sean Perry; one sister, Pat Day; and a number of other family and friends.
