Teen charged with attempted murder

Vidalia — A Vidalia teen has been charged with attempted second degree murder stemming from a shooting incident July 10.

Vidalia Police Chief Ronnie G. “Tapper” Hendricks said Keywon D. Jackson, 18, was arrested Friday after a warrant for his arrest was issued.

Many details related to the shooting incident are still unknown, Hendricks said.

“Right now it’s still under investigation,” Hendricks said.

Hendricks said Keywon was allegedly part of a group of individuals that were exchanging gunfire in lot near The Ranch House, a boot store, on Pine Street.

While Hendricks said that no individuals were actually shot, he was unsure of how many people were involved in the incident and the reason for the shooting.
