FOULES — A Clayton teen died early Wednesday morning following a single-vehicle accident in Catahoula Parish.

The 1999 Honda Accord driven by 16-year-old Kevin Chase Skipper was westbound on Louisiana 921 when Skipper apparently lost control of the vehicle, according to a statement from the Louisiana State Police Troop E office.

When the vehicle exited the roadway, it collided with a tree at the point of the driver’s side door.

The victim exited the car and called his father, and his father picked him up and transported him to Franklin Medical Center, the statement said.

Skipper was pronounced dead from the injuries at the hospital.

State troopers responded to the accident at approximately 5:30 a.m.

The accident remains under investigation.

LSP Troop E has responded to 41 fatal accidents resulting in 49 fatalities in 2009.
