VIDALIA — Services for Travis Steve Gore, 90, of Vidalia, will be at 3 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Vidalia with Dr. Ralph Webber officiating.
Burial will follow at Old Bethel Cemetery at Clarks, La.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Mr. Gore was born May 30, 1919, in Caldwell Parish, the son of Hildred Gore and Oneida Franklin Gore. Travis was a 1940 of Northwestern State University and was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army. Travis spent all of his life involved in banking, first with Citizens Progressive Bank in Columbia and later with Concordia Bank and Trust Company. He was a very civic-minded individual and will truly be missed by the Miss-Lou community.
Survivors include his wife, Nigel Gore; two sons, Lyman Gore and wife, Janis, and Brent Gore and wife, Jo Lynn; one daughter, Kay Savant and husband, Robbie; five grandchildren, Michael Gore, Jason Gore, Carol Loy and husband, Josh, Heath Savant and wife, Amber, and Lori Gore; and one great-grandchild, Emily Carol Loy.
Pallbearers will be Pat Galloway, Pat Biglane, Eldon Stegall, Heath Savant, Randy Welch, Michael Gore, Jason Gore and Neil Riser.
Honorary pallbearers will be directors of Concordia Bank, directors of Southern Heritage Bank, members of the Adult4 men’s class of First Baptist Church of Vidalia and Willie Smith.
In lieu of flowers, any planned memorials may be made to the Streams of Life Food Ministry, 10140 Whiteoak, Baton Rouge, LA 70815.
