NATCHEZ — Services for Alton “Red” Tillman, 75, of Natchez, who died Sunday, July 19, 2009, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Willie “Rusty” Anderson officiating.
Burial will follow at Watkins Street Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Tillman was born July 30, 1934, in Grenada, the son of Winston Tillman and Alma Hammond. He was a employed as a construction worker.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Bell Smith Tillman; four sons, Alton Smith and wife, Carol, of Bogalusa, La., George Tillman and wife, Michelle, of West Palm Beach, Fla., Walter Glen Smith and Eddie Tillman and wife, Vanessa, all of Natchez; three daughters, Juanita Potters and husband, Charles, Ruthie Pendleton and husband, Wesley, and Lee Edna Williams and husband, Joseph, all of Natchez; two sisters, Viola Davis of Sicily Island and Carolyn Thomas of Grenada; five sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
