FOULES, La. — Services for Chase Skipper, 16, of Foules, La., who died Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at Franklin Medical Center in Winnsboro, La., will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sunnyside Church in Foules with the Rev. Jerry Sharp Jr. officiating.
Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today at the church.
Chase was born Feb. 26, 1993, in Ferriday, the son of Kevin and Linda Skipper. He was a member of Sunnyside Church and was an active member of the youth group. He was always ready and eager to help with anything. He operated the audio sound system. Chase worked his summers with Roger Carters Ag Management where he checked cotton.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Louis Smith.
Survivors include his parents of Clayton; three sisters, Heather Powers and husband, Ronald, of Sicily Island, Corrie B. Buckles of Ferriday and Madison Skipper of Clayton; one brother, Noah D. Skipper of Clayton; grandfather, Raymond Skipper and wife, Sherry, of Clayton; grandmother, June Skipper of Waterproof; grandparents, Wayne and Hanna Harvey of Natchez; and a number of family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Smith, Cody Allen, Logan Mason, Elijah Harrell, Jeremy Case and Jay Seymour.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lil Jerry Sharp, Barry Sharp, Bill Harrell, Matt Myers, Russ Mason, Freddie Hill and the Rev. John Martin.
