Family fun is good news for area

Family fun was the name of the game in the Miss-Lou last week.
From FamilyFEST visitors to a scrapbooking pajama party, good clean fun was all around.
Let’s review some of the great events and good news from the fourth week of July.
– Families, friends and neighbors gathered Saturday at the 17th annual Minorville Jubilee on Minor Street. This event has become a family reunion for many, and we are glad community members can so enjoy each other’s company.
– Scrap-N-on the River filled the Natchez Convention Center Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and you wouldn’t believe the colors, do-dads and brick-a-brack on display inside. Women — mostly — from around the area filled the convention center for a relaxing weekend of scrapbooking and scrap supply shopping. The now annual event has become a great boost for the convention center and a fan favorite for the community.
– Volunteers with the Southern Baptist Association’s FamilyFEST came to town early this week, repairing houses, lending a helping hand and creating a few smiles. We know the workers touched more than a few lives this week and we welcome them back anytime.
– Four summer interns are working hard at a tedious task at the National Park Service in Natchez this year. One Natchez native — Kaitlyn Mayfield — is among a group cataloguing and cleaning old bottles, a task the NPS workers say wouldn’t get done without the interns.
As we begin the last week of July, we know the month’s good news isn’t over yet.
