NATCHEZ — Dr. Margaret Paxton Veller, a much-beloved OB-GYN in Natchez for more than 40 years, died Monday, July 27, 2009, after a long illness.
At her request, a private burial was held under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Dr. Veller was the first woman OB-GYN to graduate from Vanderbilt University and delivered more than 5,000 babies in the Natchez community. She was totally dedicated to her profession and her patients always came first.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. D.K. Veller.
