JACKSON — Services for Kelly L. Pates, 55, of Brandon, who died Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009, at River Oaks Hospital in Flowood, will be at 10 a.m. today at Wells United Methodist Church in Jakcson.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today at Old Biloxi Cemetery in Biloxi under the direction of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon.
Visitation will be from 9 to 9:45 a.m. today at the church.
Kelly was born in Biloxi and has lived in the Jackson area for the past 29 years, where he was a member of the Wells United Methodist Church.
A pillar of the local music scene, Kelly played and sang for decades with his wife, Jean, and son, Andrew, often in support of various metro-area charities. In the past few years, he’d discovered a passion and talent for wildlife photography, for which he won several awards.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary Pates.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Lehmann Pates; one daughter, Katherine Combs Williams and husband, Wes, of Jackson; two sons, Andrew Lowell Pates and wife, Allison, and Adam Joseph Pates, all of Brandon; two grandchildren, Lily Garretson and Jude Williams, both of Jackson; and two brothers, Frank Pates of Mobile, Ala., and John Clark Pates of Biloxi.
