Cooler temps usher in good news

Slightly cooler fall temperatures make the good life in the Miss-Lou that much better.
We began to see a slight drop in heat last week, but we know true relief is still a few weeks away.
Regardless, it was a good week to live in the area. Let’s review some of the good news from last week.
-The Vidalia Council on Aging has few slots open for local seniors to come and eat lunch. The council’s program serves lunch Monday through Friday to those over 60. It offers a great meeting place and a well-balanced meal. Any seniors looking for company and a bit to munch on should inquire about the openings.
-Fallin Career and Technology Center Eric Stewman is doing what he loves and doing it well. The auto mechanics teacher has earned recognition because his class earned the highest average score in the state on the Mississippi Career Planning and Assessment System exam. Congratulations to Mr. Stewman and his students.
-The brainchild of the Rev. Simeon Green III became a reality Saturday when dozens of Ferriday residents gathered for a fun day together. The Community Outreach and Back to School Extravaganza offered fun, food and fellowship for all who attended. We hope Rev. Green will continue to organize events like this in the future.
As a new week begins, we know exciting new news will greet us.
