FERRIDAY — Services for Johnny Lee Johnson, 66, of Ferriday, who died Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009, from injuries sustained in an automobile crash in Ferriday, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at New Morning Star Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie Birdon officiating.
Burial will follow at Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Johnson was born Sept. 17, 1942, in Oak Ridge, La., the son of Sam and Luevenia Ray Johnson. He was employed as a welder.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Chester Brown; one brother, Ernest Johnson; and two sisters, Annese Trask and Lula J. Jefferson.
Survivors include his wife, Deloris Ezell Johnson; 15 children, Kenneth, Anthony, Patrick, Ivan and Gerod Easily, all of Houston, Texas, Jared, Lamar and Michele Johnson, all of Detroit, Leonard Brown and wife, Soung, of Austin, Texas, Mary Halman, Stephanie Taylor and husband, Perry, LaQuinta Melvo and husband, June, Patricia Henderson and husband, Edward, Annette Dean and husband, Terry, and Terry Luke and husband, Bobby, all of Port Arthur, Texas; four brothers, James Johnson, Herman Johnson and wife, April, and Alex Johnson and wife, wife, Sharon, all of Detroit, and Sam Johnson and wife, Frances, of Westwego, La.; two sisters, Carrie Banks of Houston and Clotea J. Smith of New Orleans; one godchild, Shontec’ Goodman of Baton Rouge; one aunt, Hattie Fields of Ferriday; and a number of grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
