Help fight suicide at November Walk
Published 12:40 am Thursday, September 17, 2009
Sept. 10 was World Suicide Prevention Day. In honor of this day, please register to join us on Nov. 14, in the second annual Out of the Darkness Community Walk that is being in the Miss-Lou.
These walks are around the country in order to raise funds for research into depression awareness and suicide prevention.
For every person in the United States who dies by suicide, the lives of at least six people are significantly affected.
These people are called suicide survivors.
With over 33,000 suicides in our country each year, that means there are 198,000 new suicide survivors each year.
We must do something to erase the stigma associated with mental health issues so that people will reach out in times of need.
Please support this worthwhile cause. Go to www.outofthedarkness.org to find register and help fight this tragedy that can strike any family at any time.
We can help!
