Leola Hickombottom

NATCHEZ — Services for Leola “Sal” Hatten Hickombottom, 92, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Marblestone Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael R. Reed Sr. officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hickombottom was born Aug. 26, 1917, in Hilltop, the daughter of James Hatch and Selena Lawrence. She loved to fellowship with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie J. Hickombottom; her parents; two daughters, Shirley Ann Hickombottom and Barbara Hickombottom; one son, Willie James Hickombottom; and one grandson, Jerome “Dukie” Rayshun Moore.
Survivors include four sons, Edward Hickombottom, Charles Hickombottom and wife, Stephanie, all of Houston, Texas, Jewel Hickombottom and Albert Hickombottom and wife, Rachael, all of Natchez; two daughters, Bobbie Lott and husband, Joe, of Fayette, and Mildred Davis and husband, Tommy, of Houston; 27 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Lula Johnson of New Orleans; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Charles Ward, Jeremy Moore, Reginald Moore, Luvell Whirl, Darrius Jackson and Michael Johnson.
