FAYETTE — Services for Leroy Jackson, 70, of Fayette, who died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Pine Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Percy Turner officiating.
Burial will follow at Hollywood Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home in Fayette.
Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Jackson was born June 25, 1939, in Jefferson County, the son of James Jackson and Willie Mae Clark. He was a retired cement finisher. He attended Pine Grove Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Thelma Jackson.
Survivors include seven sons, Lonzel Chambliss of Jackson, Warren Davis of New Orleans, Freddrick Chambliss, Leroy Chambliss, Dennis Chambliss and Dontonio Earls, all of Fayette, and Larry Chambliss of Vicksburg; three daughters, Pamela Chambliss and Gloria Chambliss, both of Fayette, and Betty Jackson of Pontiac, Mich.; five brothers, Benard Jackson, Carl B. Jackson and Theodore Jackson, all of Chicago, James “Scat” Jackson and Jarious Jackson, both of Fayette; two sisters, Cora Mae Jackson of Chicago and Helen Wilson of Washington, D.C.; 29 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the family.
