Klara Johnson

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Klara R.M. Johnson, 75, of Columbus, Ohio, died Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009.
In accordance with her wishes, her cremated remains will be transported to Fürstenfeldbruck, Germany and buried in the family burial plot in a private service.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cotner Funeral Home.
Mrs. Johnson was born June 27, 1934, in Fürstenfeldbruck, the daughter of Anton and Margareta Rauh. She married James A. Johnson, formerly of Woodville, in 1956. After several military assignments in Europe and the United States, they settled and lived together in Columbus after their last assignment at the former Lockbourne Air Force Base in 1966.
Klara was employed by the Columbus public school system as a manager in cafeteria services until she retired in 1998 and was passionate about making a difference in the lives of the number of students that she served. She loved her pets and also provided care and treatment for many stray animals over her lifetime. She was a devoted mother and took many trips to Germany for her children to know the extended family and culture.
Survivors include her husband; three children, James N. Johnson of Indianapolis, Cassandra McLean-Johnson of Spokane, Wash., and Anton Johnson of Columbus, Ohio; six grandchildren, Jade Johnson, Shannon McLean, Zachary McLean, Zella Johnson, Sabina Johnson and Tarin Johnson; and a number of other relatives and friends.
