WATERPROOF — Services for Marie Holmes, 97, of Waterproof, who died Monday, Sept. 28, 2009, at her residence, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church with the Rev. James Beverly officiating.
Burial will follow at Good Samaritan Cemetery in Waterproof under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Holmes was born July 31, 1912, in Natchez, the daughter of Grant and Emily Williams. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Isom Holmes; and one daughter, Rosetta Clark.
Survivors include eight grandchildren, Rosetta Clark, Toy Fay Clark, Valerie Clark, Benard Clark, Chuck Clark and Stacy Clark, all of Waterproof, Dorothy Wiley of St. Joseph, La., and Shawnta Ferrow of Houston, Texas; 15 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; three nephews; and five nieces.
