FAYETTE — Services for Mary Ann Ford, 69, of Fayette, who died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009, at Promise Specialty Hospital in Vidalia, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hollywood Baptist Church with the Rev. Leon Howard officiating.

Burial will follow at Mount Israel Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Spencer Funeral Home in Fayette.

Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ford was born July 21, 1940, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Oceola Wilson and Mary White Rankin. She confessed Christ at 11 years old and was baptized by the Rev. Robert Smith and became a member of Mount Israel Baptist Church. She served as a mother of the church and was a member of the choir. She also was a member of Gold Mount and Family Connection Mass Choir.

Mrs. Ford was employed by Alcorn State University laundry department for 27 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Ford Sr.; one daughter, Cassandra Ford; her parents; two sisters, Sidey Mae Branch and Augusta M. Ross; and two brothers, Samuel Nathaniel Rankin and Tenner Rankin.

Survivors include six daughters, Miracle Chantel Ford, Mary Kaho and husband, the Rev. Ronald Kaho, Georgia Ford, Shaunda Stampley and husband, Anthony, Shrinika Ford, all of Fayette, and Elizabeth Jones and husband, Gerald, of Natchez; four sons, Charles J. Ford, Elbert Ford and wife, Earlene, Nehemiah Ford and wife, Dorothy, all of Fayette, Percy Ford and wife, Shirley, of Greenville; six sisters, Genetta McGlory and husband, A.V., of Chicago, Helen Thomas, Maratha Knight and Alice Ward, all of Vicksburg, Josetta Wilson of Greenville and Frances Banks of Patterson; two brothers, Will T. Rankin of Fayette and Clarence Wilson of Patterson; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; four godchildren, Gretta January Walker and husband, James, of Fayette, Meshell Williams Smith and husband, Corey, of Jackson, Angel Sewell of Natchez and Price King of Lorman.
