NATCHEZ — Services for Holly Bernie “Paw Paw” Baker, 86, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Mike Cowan officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Baker was born Aug. 20, 1923, in Bradley, Ark., the son of Walter Lee and Mary Ella Roberts Baker. He was a charter member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for more than 50 years and Order of the Eastern Star. He was presently attending Lovely Lane United Methodist Church.
Mr. Baker was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Odell Davidson, Hazel Wilson and Ruby Wilson; one brother, William Irvin Baker; and one daughter, Holly Bobbette Bryant.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel Amanda Parker Baker; one daughter, Rita Bailey and husband, Bob, of Natchez; one son-in-law, Jack Bryant and wife, Bonnie; six grandchildren, Holly Myers and husband, Greg, Debbie Bailey, Naomi Blackmon, Robert Bailey Jr., Joey Bryant and Jeremy Bryant; 11 great-grandchildren, Sloan and Zachary Pintard, Paige and Hart Martinez, Alicia and Noah Young, Hunter Bailey, Devin Beth, Trenton and Erinn Melissa Blackmon, all of Natchez; four great-great-grandchildren, Isabella, Olivia, Kali, Austin and Destiny; and one sister, Henrietta Matthews and husband, Arthur, of Shreveport, La.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Bryant, Frank Bailey, Bobby Earl Parker, Jerry Matthews, Johnny Matthews and Milton Rawles.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Depta, Todd Partridge, Sonny Daniels, Whitney Matthews, Brent Depta, Wayne Finley and the men of Lovely Lane United Methodist Church.
The family extends a special thanks to Todd Partridge and Neesha Blanton for the care of our beloved father and grandfather.
