ROXIE — Services for Lela Mae Thomas-Cameron, 74, of Roxie, who died Friday, Dec. 4, 2009, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Springhill Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Luther Bonds officiating.

Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home in Fayette.

Mrs. Cameron was born May 11, 1935, the daughter of Arlene Thomas and Beatrice Jenkins.

She was preceded in death by parents; eight brothers, William Dunbar, Frank Jenkins Jr., Henry Jenkins Sr., Johnny Jenkins, Spencer Thomas, Dave Thomas, Edward Thomas and Elijah Thomas; one sister, Allie Jenkins-Buie; and one granddaughter, Carmen Briggs.

Survivors include her husband, Percy Cameron Sr.; three sons, Percy Cameron Jr. of Roxie, Aubrey Cameron of Montgomery, Ala., and Gary Cameron of Bude; four daughters, Gloria Hayes and Phyllis Cameron, both of Roxie, Debbie Briggs of Montgomery and Doretha Fleming of McCall Creek; three sisters, Carrie Jenkins of White Apple, Lizzie Nelson of Amite, La., and Minnie Thomas of Newellton, La.; one godson, Keith Shoemaker of Longview, Texas; two brothers-in-law, Pearlie Buie of White Apple and Ray Cameron of Aberdeen; three sisters-in-law, Rosie Jenkins, Georgia Vanderson and Sallie Jenkins, all of Roxie; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
