Pedestrian struck by car on U.S. 65

CLAYTON — A 26-year-old woman was hospitalized Sunday night after she was struck by a vehicle on U.S. 65 near Clayton.
According to reports at the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office, the woman had just exited the 1984 Chevrolet Caprice she was riding in and had gone around to the rear of the vehicle before attempting to cross U.S. 65.
She reportedly stepped into the highway in front of an oncoming 1994 Lincoln Town Car driven by an 18-year-old male, reports said.
The woman received multiple injuries, and was transported to Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday before being transferred to an Alexandria area hospital, reports said.
No citations were issued at the time, and the incident remains under investigation, according to reports.
