NATCHEZ — Services for Ernestine McCullough Williams, 77, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, in Natchez, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Beulah Baptist Church with the Rev. Carl Smith officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Williams was born Feb. 5, 1932, in Wilkinson County, the daughter of Henry McCullough and Mary Myles McCullough. She attended Wilkinson County schools and was employed by Carpenter School as a custodian and was a private duty sitter. She was retired.
Mrs. Williams was baptized at an early age at Oak Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. Wells. She later joined Beulah Baptist Church where she served on the Mother’s Board and was a member of the Good Shepard Lodge. She loved gardening, quilting, knitting and helping others.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph Williams; one daughter, Georgia Mae Evans; twin granddaughters, Konette Shontrell Harris and Koneta Shotrel Harris; seven brothers; eight sisters; and two brothers-in-law.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Williams Johnson and Jacqueline Harris Jackson and husband, Robert, all of Natchez; one brother, Robert McCullough of Natchez; a special niece, Maggie Bradley of Chicago; a special nephew, Frank Hill; one brother-in-law, John H. Williams, both of Yuba City, Calif.; three sisters-in-law, Evelyn Williams of Slidell, La., Ida Williams of Marenno, La., and Annie Bell Scie of New Orleans; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
