DESTIN, Fla. — A man listing a Lorman address has been arrested in Florida on charges of promoting sexual performance of a minor and possession of child pornography.
John Forrest, 38, 4003 Mississippi 552 West, Lorman, surrendered to law enforcement officers late Monday night after the Florida Attorney General’s CyberCrime Unit requested a warrant for his arrest, an attorney general’s office press release says.
Forrest was living in Destin.
CyberCrime investigators reportedly discovered numerous images of child pornography and traced the images back to Forrest’s computer, the release says.
A CyberCrime investigator also determined Forrest was making the images available for distribution.
Nine computers were seized from Forrest’s Florida house.
“Forensic analysis confirmed that numerous images of child pornography were on the computers, including some images of children appearing to be no more than 2 years old,” the release says.
Forrest was booked into the Okaloosa County Jail Monday night and will be charged with three counts of promoting the sexual performance of a minor, a second-degree felony, and 20 counts of possession of child pornography, which will be enhanced to a second-degree felony.
Forrest was released from custody Tuesday morning on $30,000 bond and must wear a GPS monitoring device as a condition of his release.
Florida Attorney General Bill McColllum announced the arrest Tuesday.
