Carl Barfield

CARENCRO, La. – A memorial gathering for Carl I Barfield, 66, of Carencro, La., who died Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, at his residence, will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro.
Carl was a native of the Ferriday area and had resided in Carencro for the last 33 years. He was employed with Getty Oil, then British Petroleum and later Stokes and Spiehler as a drilling supervisor.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. Carl loved his family and friends and was always available to help them in any way. His grandchildren were his special loves.
He was preceded in death by his brother Benson Barfield of Sulpher, La., and his parents, Henry Leonard Barfield and Beatrice M. Barfield of Ferriday.
Survivors include his wife Sherrye; two sons, Kevin Colclasure and wife Julie of Jonesville and Casey Barfield and wife Amber of Carencro; three grandchildren, Jade Reine Colclasure, Blakelyn Colclasure and Cade Barfield and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. L. Russell, Dr. G. Guidry, Dr. K. Roden, the nurses of Our Lady of Lourdes fourth floor and Hospice of Acadiana for their special care.
