Warm up with a little good news

Brrrr! What a cold week it turned out to be.
But, the good news, is warmer temperatures should be setting in today.
That isn’t the only news we have to be thankful for this week. Let’s review a few other good headlines from last week.
– The Natchez tourism department is seeing success with its Girlfriend Getaway packages. The city is marketing local spas, restaurants and attractions as a great place for the gals to come while the guys go hunting. It’s a unique idea, something we’ll need to continue to see.
– Ferriday is again cleaning its streets to compete in the Cleanest City Contest. It’s great to see a town care about it appearance enough to compete with others. So, let’s get to cleaning.
– Ali Smith can’t do much better in school. She already has a perfect 4.0 grade point average and scored a near-perfect 30 on the ACT. Now she has two colleges knocking on her door and a bright future ahead. Good luck Ali, we’ll be expecting great things.
– The Concordia Parish Airport is getting a $300,000 grant to build a new hangar. The extra money will provide for the needed addition and offer a great new economic tool for the parish.
– Country music fans gathered across the Miss-Lou Saturday to attend one or both of the concerts hosted at the City Auditorium in Natchez and the Delta Music Museum in Ferriday. Thanks to the sponsors who brought these events to give us a fun place to go on a cold night.
As the temperatures warm, and the ice on Memorial Park’s fountain melts, we know the new week will be a good one.
