NATCHEZ — Services for Camille Smoot, 89, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, at Crown Health and Rehab, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pilgrim Baptist Church with the Rev. Melvin White officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Smoot was born Sept. 5, 1920, in Adams County, the daughter of Charlie Smoot and Olivia Walker Smoot. She was a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and six siblings, Alice Smoot, Charlie Smoot Jr., Leontine Knowles, Clarence Smoot, Ernest Smoot and Joseph Smoot.

Survivors include one niece, Olivia Knowles Johnson and husband, Warren, of Memphis, Tenn.; one nephew, Gregory Green of Alabama; one brother-in-law, James Knowles of Natchez; three great-nieces, Dr. Paula Green of Natchez, Camille Johnson and Alyssa Johnson, both of Memphis; one great-nephew, Shedrick Green of Natchez; four special cousins, Myra Jones, Frankie Jones, Dr. and Mrs. J.R. Todd, all of Natchez; one niece-in-law, Ella D. Lyles of Natchez; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
