SIKES, La. — Services for the Rev. C.N. Tucker, 64, of Sikes, La., who died Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, La., will be at noon today at Wallace Ridge Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Todd Tucker, Rev. Thomas K. Smith, Rev. Kevin Cox , Rev. Floyd Hawthorne and Rev. Jerry Holland officiating.
A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. at Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson, La., under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Jonesville.
Anyone unable to attend the funeral service is welcome to attend the graveside service.
Bro. Tucker was born Nov. 6, 1945, in West Monroe, La., the son of Houston Alson Tucker and Lillie Mae Tucker. He was a resident of Sikes, La.
Mr. Tucker was a minister of the United Pentecostal Church Organization and a member of Wallace Ridge Pentecostal Church. His life’s work consisted of pastoral and evangelistic endeavors that began in Monroe. He later pastored churches in Winsboro, La.; Noble, La.; and Sikes.
He was a faithful husband and a wonderful father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by everyone that he met and by every life he touched.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Sigrid Tucker; three brothers, Ronald Tucker, Donald Tucker and Marcus Tucker and one sister, Wilma Jordan.
Survivors include his wife, Adell Tucker; one son, the Rev. Todd Tucker and wife Angela of Harrisonburg, La.; one daughter, Toya Armstrong and husband Jarrod of Baskin, La.; two step-daughters, Betty Short and husband Bobby of Ferriday and Karen Molnar of Haughton, La.; one step-son, David Johnese and wife Katherine of Jonesville; three grandsons, Holden Armstrong, Dakota Tucker and Tucker Armstrong; and five step-grandchildren, Kaitlin Johnese, Grant Molnar, Blake Short, Casey Molnar and Bethany Johnese.
Pallbearers will be Brian Hume, Eric Hume Jr., LaVerl Shell, James Shell, Justin Shell, Milton Otto Martin III, Blake Short, Holden Armstrong, Tucker Armstrong and Dakota Tucker.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wallace Ridge Pentecostal Church.
